gregor tresher already liked mars bill s tracks on suara and intacto a lot but when he heard these demos he was immediately convinced to sign this new italian artist on his label break new soil. and when he received the basic channellesque remix from heiko laux from the kanzleramt, he was sure to have a true gem on his stick. do you agree

dreams of the future reveal more about the mind of the dreamer than the future itself-. the third release of rome-based label suburban avenue consists of 3 original tracks from the liverpool-based producer binny and bouncing remix by zadig. -polymorph- and -i/o- are oldschool, direct techno bangers that draw influence from detroit and beyond. with its minimally acidic riff, -signal repeat- is the perfect counterbalance to these tracks and is reminiscent of robert hood s early productions. zadig s electric remix of -i/o- takes the core of the track and re-works it into a subtle, yet tough peak-time groover that will slot easily into any discerning techno dj s set.

8 tracks of raw arabic funk music, none of these have ever been reissued before. so far fadoul (or fadaul, or faddoul, the transcribtion of his name to latin letters differs)& his music had not been rediscovered, as a matter of fact most of those songs still left no trace whatsoever in the world wide web. it took us 2 years and countless trips to morocco to find the artists family to license the release from them.

* kickin in*, an epic 12-minute journey through disco, that patrick cowley recorded in 1978. the song encapsulates the hi-nrg dance music that patrick became known for. it was an * up* sound for the gay disco scene, music that would compliment and sometimes enhance all night dancing. on the flip are two earlier songs produced between 1975-77 featuring basslines by college classmate and studio mate maurice tani. both songs feature patrick narrating erotic gay sex fantasies inspired by san franciscos leather bars, back rooms and bathhouses. these songs show the sleazy side of cowleys slow burning, oozing electronic creations

mesmerizing edgy strings and fluctuating pulses enrapture the listener into side a of romanmusiks third release com ep. with transfer 001 karl roman explores the creation of abstract notions breaking them down into their elementary particles forming an intriguing late-night groove. side b plays with these notions morphing seemingly adverse parts. transfer 002 starts from ever-evolving atmospheric soundscapes levitating into a wall of sound to then fade into hard hitting deep dance-floor techno, to be continued

our little label have grown static, we reached the fourth vinyl release. times it call, and brings it to the point. the young producers maurits and luca barletta done a really good job. with their different styles they took you on a journey in time and space. luca barletta made a tune reduced on old school beats with some dub chords. that brings every house lover a smile in the face and make them dance until there is no tomorrow. maurits an awesome talented young producer made a modern deep techno track. with dry beats and huge basses. straight forward through the night, thats the maxim of his sound. including some remixes by chris bc & rhadow

a sort of cabaret voltaire for the iphone age, drooids are a collective of three multimedia artists who produce electronic music using improvisational, often anarchic methods. utilizing a hodgepodge of gear both old and new, and not-wholly-quantized, they create a collage of sounds that verges on chaos before slipping back into a dark yet weirdly club-oriented beat. their live shows usually feature multiple guest collaborators, costumes, sculptural props and performative antics. for their debut release on lse we tried to capture the spirit of these shows and recorded over 11 hours of drooids improvising in the studio of the course of one week. those 11 sprawling hours then got edited down to these 4 snapshots, mastered and pressed in a limited edition of 200 (40 with original gelatin silver prints) for our 6th vinyl release.

it’s now pretty obvious that disco influence has not only been powerful in western clubs. it has also influenced musicians all around the world, and west-indies islands are no exception to the rule. indeed, at that time in the caribbean territories, local musicians and producers seized the sound of their us counterparts, and make it their own, melting-up disco, funk, and boogie (even early rap) elements with some more traditional or local styles. apart from some obvious titles which made it to the charts, very few was known on these productions until recently. from an initial pre-selection of 40 tracks, favorite recordings and waxist teamed up to narrow down the actual tracklist. with no pretention to be exhaustive, this selection represents a tiny sample of a broader ocean of quality caribbean disco/boogie tunes. favorite recordings & waxist are very happy and proud to bring back lights on some of these rare tunes.

when i was 10 years old my father took me to a flea market in a very small city up north in sweden, pitea. there was a little bit of everything being sold there: ski equipment, comics, porcelain figurines and vinyl. it was there and then i came across autobahn by kraftwerk. the thing is, we didn t have a turntable at the house we stayed in, on those cold winter weeks so i had to wait until we came back home to give the record a proper spin. in my mind i played it several times and i thought it was amazing. i imagined it was music from the future. what i thought when i heard it for real? didn t like it at all. the very same feeling i imagined autobahn would sound like is the one i get after listening to ishi vu s debut on omena. these five tracks, you could call it an album if you like, are playful, quirky, dreamy and very addictive. like finding a new friend you know you want to keep for a very long time.

it was in high school where music joined these two boys, exchanging deep techno and trance cassettes between classes. they grew and decided to study their passion, musical production. pablo & nani share the same style but each one does it differently in their own way, we could define it as deep tech-house. in this first ep they had clear ideas, they wanted to do a vinyl that could be played at the club, either in warm up and peak time, and they have done so. “the people we like” is the favorite of dactilar, modern deep house full of details with a clean groove. “for russia with love”, pablo’s favorite, classic deep techno in honor of all his russian followers. “krampf” is the bad guy of the movie, mental techno for long dj mixes, and “the hum”, dark and powerful from beginning to end. after so many years we are pleased to present pablo bolivar & dactilar together.

following up the fantastic summer re-release of upsetting keys “empathy” ep, path records follows with its first new catalogue number since 2006. path 008 marks the return of artist fate 258, whose 1999 “why 2k” path 001 ep has been a hotly sought after item on discogs. the three-track ep contains two exciting new mixes of cult classic techno track “the path”. the a-side version “path to hell” is the harder of the pair, a dark edgy journey into the unknown with shuffling 808 rhythms providing much of the melody. “path to heaven” slows the groove down and adds warm juno pads throughout the mix for a very deep detroit flavored techno style. on the final track “heaven or hell” sort of a broken beat downtempo piece, sparse vocals and bladerunner samples mix to complete the dystopian concept. these mixes of “the path” are considered pre-mixes, as they were completed in 1998 before the original release of path 001. fate 258 is a project from brooklyn producer reade truth, known for his work over the last decades on labels such as planet e, sonic groove, n-syde, wurst and strictly rhythm to name a few. limited to 250 worldwide, with the first 100 including full black and white cover art.

the a side * sense of doubt* is a bit more stripped down and melodic, as the b side and also the title track of this release * subterraneans* is more of a jazzy house groove, that simply doesn’t stop rolling and keeps the tension with subtle variations and other nice little gimmicks. as always we truly hope that you enjoy these tracks as much as we do and we are happy to have daniel back on board as for sure he can be called one of germanys top notch producers.
